Call for nominations for the Chartered ABS Professional Managers’ Committee and Diversity Committee

The Chartered Association of Business Schools is calling for new members to join the Professional Managers' Committee and the Diversity Committee. These are great opportunities to help shape the direction of the Chartered ABS's work and contribute to the UK's business school community at large.

Professional Managers' Committee

The Professional Managers' Committee consists of leading managers in business schools. Its mission statement is ‘to encourage and support the high performance of professional services within business schools through a process of development and knowledge transfer.’ The committee seeks to support professional development by acting as a conduit for innovation and good practice, and it plays an integral role in the Professional Managers' Annual Conference (PMAC). Its activities aim to support professional management colleagues at all levels and stages in their careers.

Membership of this committee will be particularly relevant for:

  • Heads of professional management or professional services in business schools;
  • Directors of administration and operations;
  • School or faculty business managers;
  • Senior, experienced professional services staff.

The objectives, purpose, current key projects and membership criteria of the Professional Managers' Committee are specified here.

Additional information on the work of the committee can be found here.

Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee comprises experts in diversity and/or those in leadership roles in business schools. The Diversity Committee reports to the Chartered ABS Council and defines and delivers on key projects, as outlined in the objectives set in its terms of reference. The Chartered ABS recognises that commitment to diversity supports successful business, responsible management and social justice. Together, the committee works to advise and assist the Chartered ABS, acting as a think-tank contributing to the development of policy and research on the promotion of diversity within UK business schools.

Membership of this committee will be particularly relevant for:

  • Deans, Directors, and Associate Deans;
  • Leaders and champions of diversity and inclusion from business schools around the UK, who may occupy a range of roles;
  • Those with an academic interest and/or research specialisation in diversity.

Applications are welcome from anyone who qualifies, but particularly from men, who are currently under-represented on the committee.

The objectives, purpose, current key projects and membership criteria of the Diversity Committee are specified here.

Additional information on the work of the committee can be found here.
