Pathways to Success: Strategic Groups of UK Business Schools, second edition
This report provides analysis of the variety of structures, strategies and business models adopted by UK business schools. It is designed to help Deans and Heads of Schools develop their strategic ambitions from their own unique starting points.
This second edition extends the analysis to a total of 61 schools who took part in surveys across the last two years - this represents almost half of the business schools in the UK. The analysis incorporates data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency, the National Student Survey, and other sources.
The expanded analysis again highlights the diversity of schools in the UK and reveals 12 distinctive strategic groups that each take different approaches to their operations and delivering value to their constituents. Schools are clustered into groups based on a number of measures, including international strategy, research activity, and scope of their degree portfolio.
Further depth is added to the second edition through the inclusion of data on the five year total of research income, the proportion of undergraduates from low participation neighbourhoods, and plans for degree apprenticeships.
