Tender open for evidence-based research on the future of accounting

AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) is the UK’s leading qualification and professional body for technical accountants and bookkeepers, and has around 130,000 members in over 100 countries.
AAT would like to commission some evidence-based research to look at the future of the accounting profession and the role of Accounting Technicians / bookkeepers within it. Key aspects to consider are technological change and the wider changes taking place within the educational landscape.
Research methodologies might include in-depth interviews, surveys, focus groups and roundtables. Audiences to research would be finance directors, accountants, software providers and other professional bodies in both the UK and globally (research would need an international dimension as well as UK to be used as part of AAT international strategy).
Main objectives are:
1.To get a clear view on Accounting Technicians’ role within the profession in the future
2.To find out what it means for our existing products (qualification and membership)
3.To understand opportunities for potential new products (qualifications, training, events etc.)
Possible outputs would be:
1.Campaign theme(s) to use as content / PR activity
2.White paper for internal and public consumption
3.Executive summary to use to drive key internal decision making
