Call for nominations: Chartered ABS LTSE Committee

24th June 2025

The Chartered Association of Business Schools is calling for new members for our Learning, Teaching, and Student Experience (LTSE) Committee. Applications are open to business school deans, associate deans, and senior staff in learning & teaching roles from Chartered ABS member business schools. We particularly encourage those people who hold a Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE) subscription to apply.

Role of the LTSE Committee

The role of the LTSE Committee is to represent and engage with Chartered ABS members to support policy development and capacity building in the broad areas of learning, teaching and student experience in the context of business and management education. Membership of this Committee will be particularly relevant for individuals with a senior position leading learning, teaching and student experience strategy within a business school.

Areas of focus
  • Oversight of the annual LTSE Conference, including reviewing submissions and advising on themes

  • Best practice in student learning experience

  • Quality assurance, enhancement and accreditation in Learning & Teaching

  • Professional development of Learning & Teaching staff

Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE)

We particularly welcome people who hold a CMBE subscription to apply to join the committee. Participating on the Chartered ABS LTSE committee is a great form of continuing professional development and will help CMBE subscribers meet their annual commitment of 40 hours of CPD.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Chartered Association of Business Schools is firmly committed to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion across all aspects of its work.

We actively welcome and encourage nominations from individuals who are underrepresented within the sector, including but not limited to people from minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. We are particularly keen to receive applications from staff working in institutions or roles that have historically been underrepresented in Chartered ABS activities.

In reviewing nominations, we will also seek to ensure a balanced and representative committee by considering the diversity of business school mission groups and geographic location across the UK.

If you are interested in joining our LTSE Committee, please email the following documents to Michael Baptist ([email protected]) by 5pm on 8 August 2025.

Your application must have the support of your Dean/Head of School prior to submission:

  • Curriculum Vitae (this should be a maximum of five pages)

  • A letter of application outlining the skills and experience you can bring to the committee (the letter should be a maximum of two sides of A4)

  • A short letter of recommendation from your Dean/Head of School to join the committee

Both letters should be addressed to Michael Baptist. When submitting your application, please confirm that you are happy for your details and documents to be shared with the Chair and Vice-Chair of the committee.
