The Chartered Association of Business Schools is seeking new members for the Professional Managers Committee. Applications are open to School Managers, Heads of Administration and Chief Operating Officers and other relevant members of staff from Chartered ABS member business schools.

Details on the current committee membership and committee Terms of Reference can be found here.

Chartered ABS Committee Membership Criteria is available here.

Role of the Professional Managers Committee
  1. Discuss business school management issues/challenges and opportunities and to advise the Council on policy in relation to these.

  2. Initiate discussion with and influence relevant external bodies in relation to business school management.

  3. Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and good practice, where this is mutually beneficial and does not compromise any institution’s individual corporate goals.

  4. In supporting the Chartered ABS, help initiate and provide input to activities related to the sector/discipline specific development of professional managers in business schools which include the Professional Managers’ Annual Conference (PMAC) and any other relevant activities agreed with Chartered ABS.

The Committee will normally meet four times a year, and members are expected to attend PMC workshops and community meetings as relevant. Meetings are primarily held online but some will be at the CABS office in Central London.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Chartered ABS is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion within our organisation and thus in the membership of our committees, where necessary encouraging applications from under-represented groups. Applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals are particularly encouraged.

The composition of our committees should, where possible, reflect the diversity of the Chartered ABS membership of business schools. For example, consideration will be given to a school’s geographic location, mission group affiliation, and levels of representation across our committees. Each committee will normally include only one representative from a particular business school.
