The Chartered ABS holds inaugural India-UK Business School Dialogue in New Delhi

The inaugural India-UK Business School Dialogue took place in New Delhi from 16-17 September 2025, bringing together business schools from across the UK and India to collaborate and develop new strategic transnational education (TNE) partnerships.
The event was co-chaired by Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode and Chair of the Indian Advisory Group, and Professor Pawan Budhwar, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor International, Aston University and Chair of the UK Advisory Group. It brought together 180 participants, representing 33 Indian and 33 UK business schools, alongside keynote speakers such as Lindy Cameron CB OBE, British High Commissioner to India; Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE DL, SBC Patron and Fellow of the Chartered ABS; Gurcharan Das, former CEO of Procter & Gamble India; and Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog and recent G20 Sherpa to the Prime Minister of India.
The Dialogue was convened to support the growing and changing landscape of higher education in both countries. UK higher education institutions are global leaders in TNE provision, with Asia accounting for over half of all TNE students worldwide. Meanwhile, India is celebrating five years of its National Education Policy, which has transformed its higher education sector with an expansion to more than 1,200 universities, 50,000 colleges, 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and 21 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
The collaborations between Indian and UK business schools build on the newly signed India-UK Vision 2035 under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which highlights education and skills partnerships as a key pillar for nurturing the next generation of global talent. This includes deepening collaborations between UK and Indian universities and supporting the establishment of campuses in each other’s countries.
The Dialogue was delivered in partnership with the All India Management Association (AIMA), the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), the India Business Group (IBG), and with support from the British Council.
The Chartered ABS will publish a Communiqué later in the coming weeks to evaluate the success and impact of the Dialogue, and to lay the foundations for future Dialogues
