Henley Business School publish new report 'Creating Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in Higher Education'

Henley Business School published a new report entitled "Creating Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in Higher Education: The Challenges and Opportunities for Black Academics in University Business Schools" on 10 December 2024. The report was co-authored by Dr Jummy Okoya, Dean of UEL’s Office for Institutional Equity, and Professor of Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley Business School, Dr Jonathan Passmore.
The Chartered Association of Business Schools is delighted to provide a statement of support for this report, which is grounded in some valuable research using interviews with Black academics and stakeholders.
The report not only reiterates the persistent lack of career progression for Black academics, but also presents several recommendations to address this pressing issue. The report identifies the barriers, and highlights both individual and institutional enablers. We emphasise the urgency with which universities must eliminate the barriers and actively promote enablers to ensure equitable career advancement.
