Call for nominations: Council of the Chartered Association of Business School

The Chartered Association of Business Schools invites nominations from the voting representatives of our member schools to serve as members of the Council, and therefore as trustees of the Chartered charity.

There are four positions available for ‘voting representatives’ from UK member institutions. Positions are for an initial term of three years, starting from November 2026.

About the role

The Chartered ABS Council comprises of 12 elected members who are voting representatives for their respective member UK business school, plus a number of co-opted members.

The Council meets four-to-five times annually, typically at our London office.

Members of the Council are registered with the Charity Commission as our trustees and are expected to take an active role in the governance of the Chartered ABS and in one of its committees or working groups. Their role is to support the work of the organisation and oversee its effective management. Council discusses and agrees the strategy and all major projects and activities of the Chartered ABS. Nomination process

Nominees must be their institution’s Chartered ABS ‘voting representative’. Voting representatives are typically the Dean, Head of School or equivalent. If you are unsure if you are the voting representative, please contact Dixa Patel on the details below.

If you would like to apply to serve on the Council, please email a one page expression of interest with the names of two other Chartered ABS [BR1] [DP2] voting representatives to support your nomination to Dixa Patel, Company Secretary and Governance Manager at [email protected]

Please note that Chartered ABS voting representatives can only support a maximum of 3 expressions of interest.

Deadline for nominations: Thursday 15 October 2026

Should an election be needed, nomination statements will be circulated from Monday 19 October 2026 and an online ballot will be open until Friday 30 October 2026. The outcome of the election will be announced at the AGM on 9 November 2026.
