3rd September 2025

Flora Hamilton, CEO of the Chartered Association of Business Schools, has been awarded a companionship of the British Academy of Management in recognition of her contribution to the business and management studies community.

The award acknowledges Flora’s considerable and continued efforts to champion business schools and to ensure a sustainable future for them and the wider communities they serve.

The companionship was presented to Flora during the Grand Opening Ceremony at the British Academy of Management (BAM) Annual Conference on 3 September at the University of Kent.

Flora Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer, Chartered Association of Business Schools said:

“It is truly an honour to receive a companionship from the British Academy of Management. BAM’s efforts to advocate for business schools, academics, and students has strengthened the global reputation of business and management studies, and I’m delighted to work more closely with an organisation so closely aligned with our values. I want to thank the team at BAM for nominating me and I look forward to working with them to advance the field of business and management.”

Professor Emma Parry, Chair, British Academy of Management said:

“BAM and the Chartered ABS have a long history of working together to represent business and management academics, and the institutions in which they work. In conferring this Companionship, we are delighted to recognise Flora’s commitment to sustaining that relationship and her advocacy for the value of business schools.”

Companionship of the British Academy of Management is an award made by invitation only in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of Management. The award is a way in which the Academy community honours those who have provided leadership in management practice or thought, or development of the field and its diverse community. The British Academy of Management is a leading international learned society for scholars of business and management, with around 2,500 members in more than 50 countries.
