Chartered ABS Council members elected

10th November 2025

We are delighted to announce that Professor Steve Wood has been elected to the Chartered ABS Council and Professor Marian Garcia has been re-elected for a further term.

Professor Wood is the Deputy Pro-Vice-Chanceller of the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy, and Dean of the University of Exeter Business School. He was previously Dean of Surrey Business School for five years. Steve has wide-ranging experience in a range of academic leadership, including international business school accreditation, Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission, and developing business school strategy, among others.

Professor Marian Garcia, Executive Dean of Aston Business School, has been elected for a second term. Professor Garcia has extensive academic and executive leadership experience and holds key roles within organisations such as The Academy of Business and Society, EFMD-EQUIS, and AACSB, alongside serving as a Chartered ABS Council member.

We are very grateful to outgoing Council members for their valuable contributions: Professor Julia Bennell, Executive Dean, Leeds University Business School, who has sat on the Council for three years; and Professor Yanguo Jing, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Computing and Digital Industries, Leeds Trinity University, who has sat for a period of two years as a co-opted member. Both Julia and Yanguo have been a great support and remain valued members of the Chartered ABS community.
