The teaching hours transfer window
Addressing the annual headache of academic workload allocation. Like the football transfer window, the teaching transfer window is about finding the right fit for both staff and programmes.
Office for Students draft strategy for 2025-30: Chartered ABS responds
The Chartered ABS has responded to the Office for Students' (OfS) consultation on its draft strategy for 2025-30 which has three strategic goals: quality, sector resilience, and the wider student interest. Our members broadly support these strategic goals but have several comments about implementation.
Our response explains why it’s important that the metrics used to assess quality are set within each provider’s unique context, and the importance of the ‘collect once, use many times’ principle in alleviating the burden of data collection. Our response welcomes the more collaborative approach proposed by the regulator, but notes that the strategy lacks a specific focus on international students despite the OfS’s acknowledgement of the growing importance of Transnational education (TNE) and its proposal to integrate it within its quality assessment model.
