13th March 2024

Facilitator sought for Development Programme for Directors of Research (DPDoR) 2024-25

In the summer, Natasha Mauther will have completed her third term as facilitator of our long-established flagship development programme, run jointly between the Chartered Association of Business Schools and the British Academy of Management. As a result of her able and dedicated leadership, the programme continues in excellent health with strong cohorts of alumni. We are most grateful for her service.

Accordingly, applications are invited for the role of facilitator of the Chartered ABS/BAM Development Programme for Directors of Research (DPDoR). The purpose of the programme (which will run as 4 sessions between November 2024 and June 2024) is to build capacity in the management and leadership of research in UK business schools and schools of management. The successful candidate will have strong facilitation skills and current knowledge of relevant issues in business and management research.

DPDoR comprises four two-day, face-to-face sessions in London (typically in November, January, March and June), running from midday on a Thursday to lunchtime on a Friday, with a networking dinner at a restaurant on a Thursday night.

The DPDoR facilitator is typically working, or has worked recently, in a UK business school in the role of Associate Dean of Research/Director of Research. They will have credibility and standing, with a strong research profile. They will have experience in teaching and a proven ability to inspire, motivate and engage an audience, and will have demonstrable commitment and passion.

The purpose of the role of the facilitator is to develop the programme content, facilitate the sessions, liaise with the relevant Chartered ABS/BAM members of staff to support participants, and evaluate the programme upon completion.

Further details are available upon request from Madeleine Barrows: mbarrows@bam.ac.uk.
