Chartered ABS and Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración sign strategic partnership

30th April 2025

The Chartered Association of Business Schools, the voice of the UK’s business and management education sector has signed a partnership with The Latin American Council of Management Schools (Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración – CLADEA) which represents higher education institutions and international organisations committed to teaching and research in management.

The partnership between the two bodies aims to foster academic cooperation, facilitate mutual understanding, and promote the exchange of best practices in business education across the UK, Latin America, and globally.

By leveraging the strengths and networks of each organisation, the partnership will create new opportunities to enhance educational offerings, expand global reach, and deliver greater value to members.

Key areas of focus will include mutual growth, knowledge sharing, and the development of joint initiatives that address the evolving needs of global business education.

This partnership will also explore opportunities for UK institutions to develop transnational educational initiatives with their Latin American counterparts, while also enabling Latin American institutions to enhance their research development potential across Europe.

Professor Stewart Robinson, Chair, Chartered Association of Business Schools and Dean, Newcastle University Business School, said:

“This partnership is an important step in strengthening ties between UK and Latin American business schools. It will support greater collaboration in education and research, and help our members build international connections that reflect the global nature of business and management.”

Flora Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer, Chartered Association of Business Schools, said:

“We are thrilled to announce this partnership with CLADEA. Business and management is the most popular degree in the UK, and our business schools attract the largest share of international students, studying both in the UK and overseas through transnational education. Business schools play a vital role in the internationalisation strategies of UK universities and are major contributors to UK exports. This partnership is a great opportunity for our members to develop meaningful relationships across Latin America.”

Mónica López, President, Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA), said:

“This strategic partnership reaffirms CLADEA’s commitment to breaking down barriers, fostering educational innovation, and developing global change-makers. Collaborating with the Chartered ABS will enable us to strengthen knowledge exchange and create a lasting impact on the future of business education worldwide.”

Manuel Ortiz de Zevallos, Executive Director, Latin American Council of Management Schools (CLADEA) said:

I believe this alliance will foster the exchange of knowledge, experience, and quality teaching, and above all, strengthen the reach of our countries and our partners so they can work together to the benefit of their stakeholders. We are aligned in many ways and will surely complement each other in many others. We applaud the beginning of a relationship that we believe will be fruitful for both organizations.
