Ethnicity pay gap consultation: Response from Chartered ABS

The Chartered ABS has responded to the Office for Equality and Opportunity’s consultation on its proposals for mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting.
We recognise that institutional and individual commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging supports and advances social justice, responsible management, and successful business.
To close the ethnicity, pay gap it is critical to make reporting mandatory for businesses with over 250 employees.
Data tracking is key to the success of diversity, equity, and inclusion targets and initiatives, and hence, mandatory reporting would compel employers to reflect upon and make impactful changes to reduce the pay gap.
