Second Research Excellence Framework consultation: our response

After consultation with our members the Chartered ABS has submitted a response to the second REF consultation. HEFCE made proposals based on the findings of the Stern Review, which in general, our members were happy with. The big issues will be over portability, who should submit, and the number of submissions required per person. There is a particular concern among our members over the impact on early career researchers and we have argued that rules for ECR’s may need to be more flexible.
