The Chartered ABS has appointed Professors Dermot Breslin and Mehmet Demirbag as the new Co-Editors of the Academic Journal Guide. The Co-Editors will lead the production of the 2027 edition of the AJG and offer strategic guidance on how the Guide should continue to evolve and innovate in the years ahead.

The new Co-Editors will build upon the excellent work of the out-going Co-Editors, Professors Geoff Wood and James Walker, who along with Professor Heinz Tuselmann as Chair of the Scientific Committee, and Professor Andrew Simpson as Chief Methodologist, have developed the Guide tremendously over the last ten years. More recently, we are very grateful to Professor Shuxing Yin for her work on the 2024 edition of the AJG.

Professor Dermot Breslin is the Mary McAleese Chair in Connected Leadership at Queen’s Business School, Belfast, with a research focus on Leading and Managing Change. Professor Breslin is a Fellow of the British Academy of Management, trustee of the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies and Dean of the BAM Peer Review College. He has also served as editor for numerous journals within the Business & Management domain.

Professor Mehmet Demirbag is Deputy Dean of Essex Business School. He has extensive experience in International Business research both within the UK and abroad, with a primary focus on Multinational Enterprise strategies across regions. Professor Demirbag has served on the editorial boards of multiple journals focused on management, international business and Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Professor Stewart Robinson, Chair of the Chartered Association of Business Schools, said:

“I am delighted to welcome Professors Breslin and Demirbag as the new Co-Editors of the Chartered ABS’ Academic Journal Guide.  I look forward to seeing the continued evolution of the AJG as it adapts to the changing needs of business schools and researchers across the world. I am grateful for the work of the outgoing Co-Editors, Professors Wood and Walker, who have helped establish the AJG as one of the most widely recognised and used guides for business school academics.”

Professor Caroline Gatrell, Chair of the AJG Management Committee, said:
