Scientific Committee for AJG 2027 – call for nominations

The Chartered ABS is seeking applications from experienced researchers in Business & Management to serve as a panelist on its Scientific Committee for the 2027 Academic Journal Guide (AJG) which provides details on a wide range of journals, stretching across fields that are either central or salient to Business and Management studies where academics may seek to publish their research.

We are accepting up to two nominations per member school, which must be accompanied by a supporting statement from the Dean/Head of School. The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 23 January 2026.

The role of the Scientific Committee is to advise the AJG Editorial team on which journals should be included in the Guide and the grades which they are to be assigned. As we begin work on the 2027 edition of the AJG, we are seeking to appoint academics in the following AJG subject area panels:

• Accounting

• Economics, Econometrics and Statistics

• Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management

• Finance

• General Management, Ethics, Gender and Social Responsibility

• Human Resource Management and Employment Studies

• Management Development and Education

• Psychology – Organisation Studies

• Public Sector & Health Care

• Regional Studies, Planning and Environment

• Sports, Leisure, Tourism and Sector Studies

• Strategy

Please note the following in relation to this call for nominations:

1. Individuals must be employed by a Chartered ABS member school.

2. We will only consider a maximum of two nominations per member school, meaning either one nomination in two subject areas or two nominations in a single subject area.

3. Applicants must complete and send an application form. The form must be e-signed by the Dean of the applicant’s business school before being sent to us. Alternatively, the supporting statement can be provided on a business school letterhead with the Dean’s signature.

4. We will only accept nominations to the 12 subject areas listed above. We will not accept nominations to AJG subject areas that are not listed above.

5. We will take into consideration representation from across the diverse Chartered ABS membership when reviewing the nominations received.
